Nelly happened to live on a one lane street and just across the street, 3 stories up was an old woman who every day, was sitting on her tiny balcony watching life go by. Now mind you, this is late November and December is only around the corner so she was all bundled up against the cold. It was amazing, just the same as seeing retired people in the US who sit at their windows all day long. Only this was Paris with a one lane street and a tiny balcony just wide enough for a chair to sit on, come summer or winter and she was there no matter what time I seemed to be up. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll be an old geezer watching life go by in Paris?
