Next it was off to visit the new Bibliothèque Nationale, the equivalent to the Library of Congress. Recently built, there's four buildings that if you look at them from above are meant to represent open books. |

I was shocked to see that some areas require a one day pass of 20 F, that's not really the idea of a library that I've grown up with. Just North of the Bibliothèque we did a little shopping at a G20 Super Marché and made a great find: a Fauchon vin rouge for 39.85 Francs, a 1996 Chateau de Seguin Bordeaux Supérieur. Word on the streets is that the 1996 Bordeaux's are a good year and you should buy them now, for dinner tonight or to keep some years. >> |
